| 12 December 2011 ... Master Armour was away this past weekend at the French Open Taekwondo International Championships, where she won the"Best Referee Award". We need referees to be able to run tournaments and being an official is a great way to be part of the action. Please let Master Armour know if you would like to pursue this route. |
| 27 November 2011 ... Congratulations to Jade & Austin Poburn and Alex Adams, who made their competition debut at the 2011 DanDo Cup. Also competing was Jordan Jansen, a veteran of two previous games. All athletes performed brilliantly, showing outstanding competition spirit. I look forward to our next event together! |
| 6 November 2011 ... Horizons conducted Dan testing today. Board members included Master Karen Armour, Master Robb Armour, Master JF Gaudreau and Mr. Bill Yee. Our athletes demonstrated their exceptional skills and readiness for promotion. Our new 2nd Dan Black Belts are Jack and Reg Armstrong, Ogi Marceta and Areejah Umar and our new 1st Dan Black Belts are Dany Hallée and Muneebah Umar. At age eight, Muneebah is the youngest athlete promoted to black belt in the history of Horizons Taekwondo. As well, Alexia Hallée and Catherine Boucher successfully competed interim Dan testing toward their 3rd and 2nd Dan, respectively. |

Promoted to Blue Stripe - Tim Bass, Avery Comeau and David Kim; to Green Belt - Jordan Jansen, Jacob Rousseau and Mackie Van Humbeck; to Green Stripe - Austin Poburn and Andrew Puxty; to Yellow Belt - Alex Adams, Pierre & Sam Gilroy, Annabel Hallée, Daniel Jang, Marino Lee, Rahman Noureldin and Edward Racine; and to Yellow-Stripe - Jade Poburn. Hannah Kim, in the Active Start class, also was promoted - to Purple Belt. Well done everyone! |
